Presentations to Cathy Swift and Muireann Ní Bhrolcháin
The organising committee for ICM 2011 thought that it would be fitting in the 25th anniversary year to acknowledge the enormous contributions of Cathy Swift (Mary Immaculate College, Limerick) and Muireann Ní Bhrolcháin (NUI Maynooth), who between them organised the conference for the bulk of its 25 year history.
The President of NUI Galway, Dr James J. Browne, made a presentation of a Galway Crystal vase to Cathy Swift following his welcome speech to the conference on 25 June 2011. Muireann Ní Bhrolcháin was honoured in absentia, though happily she was there to receive her gift in person later the same day.

Update on registration and conference dinner
Thanks to all those who registered online so far. This has been very helpful for us in planning logistics for the conference.
Note that you can still register for the conference online (up until a few days before the event), and that everyone is welcome to show up on the day and register in person.
Unfortunately the conference dinner is now well over-subscribed, and we have a waiting list in the event that we can make extra spaces. Bear in mind that there is plenty of choice for restaurants in central Galway, and that everyone will be able to meet up informally in the bar of the House Hotel after the conference dinner proper.
Online registration open
You can now register for the ICM on this website. [PS We would appreciate if you register by 27 May 2011.]
