ICM 2010 postscript

Many thanks to our 46 speakers, our chairs, our student helpers and all those to travelled to attend and support the conference. It was a very busy few days, and the organising committee was delighted with the quality of papers and discussion, and with the friendly and sociable atmosphere characteristic of previous ICMs.

The committee would like to extend special gratitude to its chair, Jacopo Bisagni, who spear-headed the initiative from the beginning, and took on the lion’s share of the organisational duties. The success of the conference is due in large part to his personal commitment and many hours of hard work.

We hope to post a few pictures shortly, and news about the 25th-anniversary conference in 2011 will follow when it becomes available. To keep up to date, we recommend you sign up to our mailing list (details on right), or join our Facebook group.

Many thanks to all those who registered online. We’ve had a good response, and the conference is shaping up to be very lively. You can still register, and if you’re interested in attending the conference dinner you should sign up soon, as we have just a few places left.

Update on Corrib Village accommodation

We’ve cleared up some uncertainty with Corrib Village, the student accommodation adjacent to the campus (c. 1.5 miles from city centre). There is still a conference rate of €22 per night for single standard, €30 single ensuite. You’ll need to contact them directly (not book via website), and if in doubt mention that these conference rates have been approved by the manager, Máire Bríd Ní Ghionnáin. Any problems let us know.

If you’ve already booked at a higher rate, you may want to contact them again.

Proposals should include a title and short abstract (200 words), as well as the speaker’s name, postal and e-mail addresses. The deadline for submission is 28 February 2010. Please send proposals to:
